Albin Le Maistre

Albin Hugo Le Maistre (born February 27, 1839 ; † 1929 ) was a German administrative lawyer in the Kingdom of Saxony.

Life

Le Maistre studied law at the University of Leipzig and was active in the Corps Misnia Leipzig in 1859 . After the exams he entered the administration of justice and internal administration of the Kingdom of Saxony . In 1875 he became governor of the Freiberg governorate . In 1882 he moved to the Pirna Authority in the same position . From 1893 to 1904 he was police chief of the Royal Police Directorate in Dresden . He modernized and strengthened the criminal police at the first police station in Germany and in 1894 appointed Paul Koettig as chief of the police . With him he drove the introduction of dactyloscopy .

At retirement , Le Maistre was characterized as a Privy Councilor . Koettig became his successor. Le Maistre died at the age of 90 and was buried in Dresden.
