Albir Rifkatowitsch Krganov ( Russian Альбир Рифкатович Крганов ; scientific transliteration Al'bir Rifkatovič Krganov , also Albir Krganov ; born October 10, 1976 , Batyrevo district , Chuvashia ) is a Russian mufti .

Offices

Krganov is a figure of Islam in Russian Muslim religious and public life holding many offices. Since 2010 he has been the chairman of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Moscow and Central Russia and thus the Mufti of the so-called Moscow Muftiate (Russian Московский Муфтият). From 2005 to 2012 he was the first deputy chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims in Russia under the leadership of Grand Mufti Talgat Tajuddin .

He is the chairman of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Chuvash Republic and thus Mufti of Chuvashia. He is a member of the Social Chamber of the Russian Federation .

On 30 November 2016 he was the President Hotel in Moscow to head a new Muslim umbrella organization in the Russian Federation selected, the clergy congregation of the Muslims of Russia (Russian Духовное собрание мусульман России; abbr. ДСМ РФ / DSM RF;. Engl. Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia ), a new alliance of muftiats in the Russian Federation that brings together a dozen regional clergy administrations.

In an interview on the occasion of the founding of this new organization, the religious historian and Islamic scholar Roman Silantjew pointed out that Krganov had been able to expand his social position since the end of 1999 when he accompanied President Vladimir Putin on a visit to Chechnya at the beginning of the Second Chechen War . His position is strengthened by his permanent residence in Moscow and his actual monopoly on representing Muslim interests in Russia.
