Albrecht Claus (born June 29, 1896 in Thale , † 1963 or 1965 in Oberlahnstein ) was mayor of the city ​​of Oberlahnstein and government director in Bromberg.

Life

After graduating from high school at the end of 1914, Albrecht Claus was a volunteer with the 1st Brandenburg Uhlan Regiment No. 3, was wounded in the war and began studying law in Berlin . He went back to the theater of war and took part in the Spartakist struggles as a student . Claus continued his law studies in Tübingen and Marburg . Before he was appointed court trainee at the Higher Regional Court of Kassel on November 2, 1920 , he had participated in the fighting against the Red Army in Thuringia as an orderly officer in the Marburg Jäger Battalion . In 1921 he switched to the district government of Potsdam as a government trainee , and was transferred to the district administration office in Belzig . On August 11, 1929, he received the certificate of appointment to the government council and had previously been employed in various administrations, such as the Gumbinnen district government, the Berlin police headquarters and the Merseburg district government. In 1932 he was commissioned with the provisional administration of the Quedlinburg district office . At the end of 1938 Claus came to the Münster district government as a senior councilor and had to take part in the fighting in World War II when the war began . In November 1943 he was transferred to the Bydgoszcz district government as a government director . Appointed Senior Government Director in December 1944, he was responsible for Heading Department I. In the spring of 1945 he fled to Halle ad Saale and in July 1945 came to the Merseburg district government as a government director, where he became head of the traffic office. After three years of freelance work, he was elected mayor of the city of Oberlahnstein on February 16, 1949. His election period expired on May 21, 1961. Claus remained in office until the election of his successor and retired on August 1, 1961.

Albrecht Claus was a member of the NSDAP from May 1, 1933 (membership no. 2.014.365).
