Albrecht Holder

Albrecht Holder (born August 24, 1958 in Reutlingen ) is a German bassoonist and university professor .

Life

Holder received his first bassoon lessons from Siegfried Jerusalem and studied bassoon with Herrmann Herder at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart and with William Waterhouse at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester .

He was principal bassoonist with the Stuttgart Philharmonic and a member of the festival orchestras of the Bayreuth Festival and the Ludwigsburg Palace Festival . In 1996 he was appointed professor for bassoon at the University of Music Würzburg and from 2011 taught at the Maastricht Conservatory .

Together with Bodo Koenigsbeck he published a bassoon school for children.
