Albrecht Kippenberger

Albrecht Kippenberger (born December 19, 1890 in Siegen , † September 17, 1980 in Marburg ) was a German art historian .

Kippenberger studied at the universities in Munich , Vienna , Berlin and Marburg . From 1927 until his retirement in 1957, he was the first director of the University Museum in Marburg. During this time he expanded his collection to include numerous acquisitions.

Kippenberger also made numerous contributions to the history of iron casting in Germany.
