Albrecht Tübke

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Albrecht Tübke (born July 16, 1971 in Leipzig ) is a German painter and photographer . His parents are the painter couple Werner Tübke and Angelika Tübke geb. Hennig.

Albrecht Tübke studied in Leipzig at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig , where he graduated in 1997. Afterwards he was a master student with Timm Rautert . This was followed by further studies in London at Guildhall University , which he completed in 2001.

As a painter, Albrecht Tübke devotes himself not only to portrait painting but also to still life, while his oil paintings are in the tradition of classic glaze painting from the Renaissance period. In lengthy and complex work processes, the pictures are painted in many transparent layers on top of each other. The resulting oil paintings have a high level of precision in detail and have an impressive depth of color.

In photography his field is the image of man. These are mostly full-body portraits in which the color is greatly reduced. Tübke is about the representation of individuality and uniqueness of people. The people portrayed almost always look into the camera. Through the concentration of the gaze as well as the sensitively observed posture of the person depicted, Tübke succeeds in creating images of very strong intensity with a documentary approach.

Albrecht Tübke lives and works in Italy and Germany.
