Albrecht von Massow (General)
Albrecht von Massow (born May 12, 1879 in Oldenstadt , Uelzen district ; † May 6, 1953 in Schenkenzell , Wolfach district ) was a German officer , most recently Major General of the Air Force in World War II .
Life
Albrecht came from the Pomeranian noble family von Massow .
Massow occurred on 24 March 1897 as a cadet in the Regiment Field Artillery 18 "General-Feldzeugmeister" (2nd Brandenburg) no. Of the Prussian army in Frankfurt (Oder) one. In the further course of his military career, he worked in the Prussian War Ministry from August 1, 1917 until the end of the First World War and was then released from active military service on February 15, 1919.
In the course of arming the Wehrmacht's air force , von Massow was reactivated on July 1, 1935. During the Second World War he was promoted to major general on January 1, 1941. Most recently von Massow worked in the Reich Aviation Ministry before he was retired on May 31, 1942.
