Oldenstadt is a district of the Hanseatic city of Uelzen in the Lower Saxony district of Uelzen .
history
Until 1959, the seat of the district administration was in Oldenstadt. This made Oldenstadt one of the smallest district seats in Germany.
Geography and transport links
The district lies east of the core area of Uelzen. The former monastery church of Oldenstadt in its center is considered to be the oldest building in the city.
The Wipperau flows through the town , the Elbe Lateral Canal runs past the western edge of the town and the Oldenstädter See lake to the north .
The B 191 runs on the southern outskirts and the B 493 to the southeast.
