Alcover is a Catalan municipality in the province of Tarragona in northeastern Spain . It is located in the comarca of Alt Camp .

Geographical location

Alcover is about 15 kilometers northwest of Tarragona . The Francolí river flows through the district. The community is located at around 243 meters above sea level at the foot of the La Mussarra mountain range and has 5064 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019).

Worth seeing

Historic small town with remains of the medieval city wall. Ruins of the listed Romanesque church "Esglesia Vella" from the 12th century. Arkadenplatz. Town hall from the 16th century.
