Aldebaran (ship, 1869)
The Aldebaran , ex. Concordia was a three-masted sailboat built by TR Oswald & Co., Sunderland .

history
The three-masted iron barque belonged to French owners. It was 46 meters long and 8.3 meters wide. The barque reached a draft of 4.8 m and had a capacity of 429 t. The ship was launched in 1869 and was sold to JN Rodbertus, Barth in 1890 and to John M. Eklund in Åbo in 1897 .
In 1899, Australians from Sydney bought the ship. From 1912 onwards, it was used by the New Zealand Union Steam Ship Company as a coal hulk in the port of Hobart , Tasmania . On April 13, 1948, the company sank the barque in Norfolk Bay near Dunalley as a breakwater . The wreck was still visible there until 2001.
