Aldo Rossi (director)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aldo Rossi (born September 13, 1906 in Vezzano Ligure , † December 21, 1981 in Milan ) was an Italian film director , theater maker and boxer .

Rossi was moderately successful as a boxer in the second half of the 1920s and turned to a career for the stage after his athletic career. He founded the “Compagnia Rossalda” (which consisted largely of his children) and after the Second World War he directed some of his own self-written revues (e.g. Polvere di Broadway , for which he directed Ugo Tognazzi and Elena Giusti ). With his family ensemble he worked as the author, director, producer and film editor of the drama Briscola in 1951. 1964 followed (as Rossaldo ) Adolescenti al sole .

The director of the same name, who shot the rarely shown Asciamoli vivere (also at the beginning of the 1950s) , is distinguished from the above by Roberto Poppi in his standard work on Italian film; his place of birth is given as Treviso ; He previously worked as Mario Bonnard's assistant , worked on scripts and produced the little-known La mascotte dei diavoli blu . This distinction is rarely made otherwise.
