Aldo Venturelli (* 1948 in Rome , Italy ) is an Italian literary scholar.

Career

Aldo Venturelli studied at the Roman University of La Sapienza and received his doctorate in 1971 with a doctoral thesis “Intellectual work and the capitalist system in the first book by Robert Musil's Man without Qualities ” (“Lavoro intellettuale e sistema capitalistico nel primo libro de L'uomo senza qualità di Robert Musil "). It was there that his academic career began in 1972. From 1979 he continued his work at the University of Urbino , since 1990 as full professor. From 2000 to 2007 he was Secretary General of the German-Italian Center Villa Vigoni . He maintained a variety of scientific relationships with foreign universities, in particular with the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and the TU Berlin . a. were funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation . In 2008 he was appointed scientific coordinator of the Italian side of the German-Italian Commission of Historians. From 2009 to 2011 he conducted research at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei in Rome and then headed the Italian Cultural Institute in Berlin until 2015 . In 2016 he returned to the University of Urbino. He retired in 2018 .

Aldo Venturelli is a member of numerous scientific committees. In recognition of his commitment to German-Italian relations, he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Grande Ufficiale dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana). He has specialized in various research areas of German literature and philosophy, from the 18th century to the turn of the century and literary modernism . He has made a particular contribution - alongside studies on many other authors of the 20th century - with his studies on the work of Friedrich Nietzsche and Robert Musil . He is the author and co-author of numerous standard scientific works and publications.

At the same time as the various tasks listed above, Aldo Venturelli devoted himself intensively to research and wrote works that are of fundamental importance for German studies in Italy - starting with a new approach in Musil research and the investigation of Nietzsche's relationship to Vienna and on psychoanalysis ( Nietzsche in Berggasse 19 ) through a long series of articles on Nietzsche studies to such essential and extensive research projects as the viewing and reissuing of Nietzsche's works and posthumous materials in successful collaboration with former and present representatives of the famous Pisan philologicalists School around Mazzino Montinari and Giorgio Colli . At the same time, he researched the philosophy of the Naumburg thinker together with outstanding international Nietzsche researchers such as Wolfgang Müller-Lauter and Ernst Behler .
