Alejandro Luna

Alejandro Luna (born December 1, 1939 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican lighting technician and set designer .

Life

Luna completed her degree in architecture . He works as a set designer and lighting technician at the theater and opera, but also for film and television. He was director of the Centro Universitario de Teatro at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and has taught at many Mexican universities since 1958. From 1967 to 1975 he took part in the Prague Quadrennial three times in a row, as well as in 2003 and 2007. In 2003 he was a member of the international jury there. He was awarded the Mexican National Art Prize ( Premio Nacional de Artes ) in 2001 and the Distinguished Artist Award of the International Society for the Performing Arts in 2004. The Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2005 . He is the father of the actor Diego Luna .
