Alejandro Serrano Caldera

Alejandro Serrano Caldera (born November 5, 1938 in Masaya ) is a former Nicaraguan diplomat and philosopher.

Life

Alejandro Serrano Caldera is a member of the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional . In 1962, he graduated in law at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua from. In 1964 he became a doctor of law of labor law in Rome doctorate. From 1965 he received a professorship there . From 1990 to 1995 he was rector of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua. From 1990 to 1994 he was chairman of the Consejo Nacional de Universidades . From 1993 to 1994 he was chairman of the Consejo Superior Universitario Centroamericano . From 1974 to 1976 he was a member of the Latin American committee of the International Labor Organization in San José (Costa Rica) . From 1977 to 1979 he was a member of the Latin American body of the International Labor Organization in Lima . From 1979 to 1984 he was ambassador to Paris and to UNESCO. From 1984 to 1992 he was a member of the UN Human Rights Committee . From March 1985 to 1988 he was chairman of the Corte Suprema de Justicia (Supreme Court) in Managua . From 1988 to 1990 he was the permanent representative of the Nicaraguan government at the UN headquarters .

He was a member of the Academia Nicaragüense de la Lengua . He has published more than 20 works on philosophy, law and political science .
