Alexios Alexandris , usually Alekos Alexandris for short ( Greek Αλέκος Αλεξανδρής , born October 21, 1968 in Kiato ) is a former Greek football player who ended his career in 2006 and last played for the Cypriot club APOP Kinyras Peyias .

Career

Alekos Alexandris started his career with the local club Pelopas Kiato . From 1986 to 1991 he played for Veria FC . Then he moved to AEK Athens , where he played a total of three years and won the Alpha Ethniki in all three years . He was there in 1994 top scorer of the Alpha Ethniki .

He spent most of his career at Olympiacos . There he played for ten years and celebrated his greatest successes in Piraeus . He won the Alpha Ethniki seven times and the Greek Cup once . At Olympiacos he was three times top scorer of the Alpha Ethniki . During his time at Olympiacos, he was also named Greek Footballer of the Year.

He then played one year each at AE Larissa and Kallithea FC . In 2005 he moved to the Cypriot club APOP Kinyras Peyias . There he played as a player-coach until 2006 and then ended his football career.

National team

Alexandris made his debut in the Greek national football team on March 27, 1991 and he played in the 1994 World Cup . In 2002 he ended his career in the national team. He made 42 games for Greece and scored ten goals.

Stations as a trainer

After he moved to the Cypriot club APOP Kinyras Peyias , he was a kind of player-coach there . After a two-year break as a coach, he became head coach on February 12, 2008 at the Greek club AO Kerkyra , which plays in the Beta Ethniki . After only one season he took over the U-21 team from Olympiacos until 2011. From 2011 to 2012 he was the head coach of Elassona FC .
