Aleksander Šeliga (born February 1, 1980 ) is a Slovenian football goalkeeper .

Career

Šeliga started his professional career at NK Celje . In 2005 he moved to the Czech club Slavia Prague , where he did not prevail and returned to his hometown club Celje after just one year. With consistently good performances for NK Celje, he aroused the interest of the Dutch top club Sparta Rotterdam , who signed the goalkeeper in 2009. There Šeliga established himself straight away as a regular goalkeeper.

Aleksander Šeliga, who has been part of the Slovenian squad since 2007, made his international debut on March 3, 2010 in a 4-1 friendly win against Qatar. At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Šeliga was the third goalkeeper in the Slovenian squad.
