Aleksander Korecki

Aleksander Korecki ( Alek Korecki ; born July 19, 1955 ) is a Polish jazz and rock saxophonist, bass clarinetist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and lyricist.

Life and work

In 1979 Korecki graduated from the flute class at the Breslau Music Academy. In the 1980s he played in jazz groups such as Sesja 80 Acoustic Action , Free Cooperation , Young Power , Pick Up Formation and Tie Break and joined groups such as Tilt , Brygada Kryzys and Izrael in the independent Polish rock movement . As a composer and musician, he worked on Piotr Dumała's animated film Lykantropia in 1981 . Since the early 1990s he has been working with the Elektryczne Gitary group, of which he has been a permanent member since 1995. With his friend Marek Wójcicki he performs as an interpreter of alternative jazz.

Since 2005 he has been working again with the Brygada Kryzys , with whom he appears at concerts. Since 2008 he has been a member of Robert Brylewski and Maciej Góralski's group Kryzys . Other musical partners include Martyna Jakubowicz , the groups Dżem , Daab and Kobranocka that Ireneusz Dudek Big Band , Jorgos Skolias , Roman Wojciechowski , the Twinkle Brothers , Jacek Kleyff and Orkiestr Na Zdrowie , Krzysztof Ścierański , Tomasz Szukalski , Leszek Możdżer , Sławomir Kulpowicz , Bronisław Duży , Jan Wróblewski , Janusz Iwański , Leszek Biolik , the Tymański Yass Ensemble , Stanisław Sojka and Muniek Staszczyk .
