Alena Karešová

Alena Karešová (born January 27, 1927 in Prague as Alena Engelmannová ; † July 19, 2019 ) was a Czech film actress .

She studied at the theater faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and performed in smaller roles during her studies. After graduating in 1950, she taught at the Film and TV Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague until 1989 .

She first appeared in front of the camera in 1954 in the comedy Nejlepší člověk (The Best Man), where she played a young girl. She achieved greater fame from the 1970s when, with her slim, bespectacled face, she more often embodied authoritarian women such as teachers or nurses. In addition to Czech television films, she also starred in the German-language television film Ein Stück Himmel .
