action
The boy Ferdinand Trenkel is swallowed up one morning by a meteorite that carries him to the planet of flowers. There he receives seeds from which two flowers grow. If he smells one, he can fly; if he smells the other, he temporarily grows up and looks like his father.
Ferdinand's teacher Philipp Janda also visits the planet of flowers. From there he also brings seeds for miracle flowers with which he hopes to improve humanity: They cure diseases, increase intelligence, increase physical strength, make kind and give back to youth. The curious hairdresser Blecha, however, steals the flowers from the "Institute for the General Perfection of Mankind" and uses them for his own purposes.
