content

In the year 2484 mankind is well advanced: time travel is possible, even if only permitted in exceptional cases, in order to avoid temporal paradoxes. The earth is ruled by the World Council, which is advised by the central thinker (in the original Centrální Mozek Lidstva = "central brain of mankind"), a computer.

At the beginning of the series, the central thinker states that the earth is threatened by a "rotating fog", which could shift the earth's axis when it is about to fly past the earth . (This nebula is later referred to as a comet and in summary comments at the beginning of each episode.) As an alternative to an evacuation of threatened areas, continents are to be shifted with the help of a formula by the genius Adam Bernau and thus saved from catastrophe. According to his memoirs, the later Nobel Prize winner Bernau is said to have developed this formula in 1984 when he was still a young student. Unfortunately, the exercise book with the formula was destroyed in a fire on his eleventh birthday in the past.

Under the direction of the historian Filip, an expedition team is being put together to travel 500 years back in time to the city of Kamenice using a time machine that is built into a Lada Niva for camouflage, in order to track down the formula from its destruction, to preserve it and to use it in Bring the future to save the earth. After the formula could not be saved after many entanglements, the time travelers return to their time. Mr. Drchlík, who was also traveling, noticed that the central computer was a bit crooked and corrected this error with a small wooden wedge. The central thinker then corrects his original, incorrect calculation and determines that the earth was not endangered at all.
