Otto Šimánek
Otto Šimánek (born April 28, 1925 in Třešť ; † May 8, 1992 in Prague ) was a Czechoslovak actor .
Life
Šimánek was part of the Prague City Theater ensemble. He also taught pantomime at the Prague Conservatory .
Šimánek became internationally known for the role of the mostly wordless magician Pan Tau , whom he played from 1970 to 1978 in the series of the same name and again in a movie in 1988.
Otto Šimánek died unexpectedly of cancer in 1992 at the age of 67. Two years earlier he had appeared in the music video for Nena's song "You are everywhere" in his cult role as Pan Tau. He is buried in the Vinohrady Cemetery in Prague.
