Alena Schyn ( Belarusian Алена Жынь ; English transcription Alena Zhyn ; born April 13, 1985 ) is a Belarusian biathlete .

Alena Schyn made her international debut in 2003 in races at the European Junior Cup in Ridanna . In the following seasons she ran frequently in this racing series and achieved several top ten results, including three podium finishes. The first major event was the 2004 Junior World Championships in Haute-Maurienne . In France she was 12th of the individual, tenth of the sprint, 15th of the pursuit and with Tazzjana Schyntar and Hanna Lianhina relay tenth. Shortly afterwards she also took part in the junior races of the European Championships in Minsk , where she finished 23rd in the individual, 18 in the sprint and 16 in the pursuit. With Tazzjana Schyntar and Hanna Lianhina, Schyn just missed a medal as fourth with the relay. In the following year Schyn came back to use at the Junior World Championships . In Kontiolahti , Finland , she came in 19th in the individual, 12th in the sprint and pursuit and again fourth in the season with Svetlana Komendantova and Darja Domratschawa . The last international championships were the 2006 Junior European Championships in Langdorf am Arbersee, where she was 23rd in the individual and 12th in sprint and pursuit.

The summer biathlon world championships in 2007 in Otepää were the first international championship for women in the performance area . At the competitions in Estonia Schyn was 16th in the sprint and 18th in the mass start race. The following winter she made her debut in the European Cup in Obertilliach at the start of the 2006/07 season and was 33rd in the sprint and 32nd in the pursuit. She only narrowly missed the points, but did not reach them in other races of the season. She has not had any other international assignments since 2007.
