Alessandro Gherardi
Alessandro Gherardi (born July 8, 1844 in Florence , † January 8, 1908 there ) was an Italian archivist and historian .
Live and act
He was born in Florence in 1844, his parents were Ferdinando Gherardi and Assunta Burzagli.
In 1861 he was admitted to the Florence State Archives as an apprentice , where he attended the School of Paleography and Diplomatics . In 1903 he became director of the archive.
1896–1898 he published his first series of the Consulte della Repubblica Fiorentina dall'anno 1280 al 1298 , with which he won the prize of the Accademia delle Scienze in Torino.
He was a member of various associations and academies, including the Accademia Colombaria in 1868 and the Accademia della Crusca in 1897.
He died in Florence in 1908.
