Alessandro "Alex" Pesenti-Rossi (born August 31, 1942 in Bergamo ) is a former Italian racing driver .

Career

Pesenti-Rossi drove in the Italian Formula 3 championship when he moved to the Formula 2 European Championship for some races in 1974 .

In 1976 Pesenti-Rossi tried to get into Formula 1 . He bought a Tyrrell 007 and competed in three world championship races. He was able to place himself in all three appearances. At the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring he crossed the finish line in 14th, at the Austrian Grand Prix he was eleventh and at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza he crossed the finish line in 18th.

In 1977 Pesenti-Rossi returned to Formula 2 and achieved fourth places on a March 772 at his home races in Vallelunga , Mugello and Misano . After he failed to qualify for the Formula 2 race in Hockenheim in 1978 , he retired from racing
