Alewtina Anatoljewna Tanygina ( Russian Алевтина Анатольевна Таныгина ; born December 15, 1989 ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Tanygina first appeared in February 2007 at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Jaca . There she finished seventh over 7.5 km freestyle and won gold over 5 km classic. From 2008 to 2014 she mainly participated in the Eastern Europe Cup . She made it onto the podium twice and reached eleventh place in the overall ranking in the 2013/14 season. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2010 in Hinterzarten , she won silver over 10 km classic. She ran her first World Cup race in November 2011 in Sjusjøen , which she finished in 51st place over 10 km freestyle. A week later she got her first World Cup points in 15th place at the final stage of the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo . In March 2012 she became Russian champion in the 30 km mass start race in Tyumen . In the Tour de Ski 2013/14 and 2015 she finished 35th and 15th in the overall ranking. In January 2015 she achieved her first top ten placements in the World Cup in Rybinsk with tenth place in the skiathlon and seventh place in the 10 km freestyle. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , she took 24th place in the 10 km freestyle, 14th place in the skiathlon and seventh place in the relay. In the 2015/16 season she took 32nd place at the Nordic Opening in Ruka . With the 16th place in the 5 km stage she achieved her best individual placement of the World Cup season.
