Alex Eder

Alex Eder (* 1983 in Munich ) is a Bavarian local politician ( Free Voters Unterallgäu ). It is 2020 since May 1, district administrator of the district Unterallgäu .

Life

After elementary school and high school, Eder did military service. From 2003 to 2008 he studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich and graduated as a Dipl.-Ing. Univ. from. After completing his legal clerkship as a government master builder (from 2008), he worked as a department head at various state building authorities and at the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Building and Transport . Since 2019 he has been a department head with the rank of government director at the State Building Authority Krumbach (Swabia) .

Eder lives in Türkheim .

In autumn 2019, the Free Voters asked Unterallgäu whether Eder would apply for district administration candidacy, whereupon he agreed. As a non-party, he was nominated by the Unterallgäu Free Voters and received 49.9% of the valid votes from four applicants in the district election on March 15, 2020 ; he lacked 14 votes for an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2020 he was elected with 80.1% to succeed Hans-Joachim Weirather against the losing candidate of the CSU.

Eder is married and has two children.
