Alex Henry Foster (born November 19, 1989 ) is a Canadian singer and founder of the band Your Favorite Enemies .

Life

Five years before Foster founded the band Your Favorite Enemies , he was a member of a right-wing extremist organization . He justified his membership in this organization among other things with his difficult childhood , disorientation and his readiness for aggression and violence. He also gave concerts in this scene. Because of his ability to attract new potential members, he quickly rose to the top ranks of the organization.

At the age of 18, with the help of his father, he managed to leave the right wing scene. After he left the scene, there was a period of isolation. He is a social worker and got to know Stephan through this job, with whom he played in several bands. Both took action in the fight against discrimination . At that time he became a member of Amnesty International and Artist Against Racism . Together with Stephan he founded the organization Rock n Rights . That was at the time when schoolyard CDs were becoming more and more popular in Canada. Foster also worked on a documentary about the right wing scene in Canada.

Career

The first band he formed with Lemelin was called The Riddlers and laid the foundation for Your Favorite Enemies. In 2004 the name ( In This Life ) and the music style changed. Two years later, today's band Your Favorite Enemies was born . In 2008, rumors broke out in a UK blog that Foster was leaving the band for health reasons. At the International Battle of The Bands, which took place in Ireland in 2004 , he was invited as a jury member.

In 2018 Foster released a solo album titled Windows in the Sky . It rose to number 3 on the Canadian album charts.

Movie

Foster worked on the documentaries Digital Hate (2002), Gravitation des cœurs (2003), Conversations (2005) and Voyage à la mer (2010). He worked as a co-writer and actor on the films .

Amnesty International

For several years, Foster has been the spokesperson for Amnesty International in Canada. He is congress speaker and has hosted the Annual Youth Congress of Amnesty International several times .
