Alex Köberlein (Alexander Köberlein) (* 19th November 1951 in Schussenried ) is a German rock - musicians and singers . He is the founder and lead singer of the rock groups Grachmusikoff and Schwoißfuaß , whose texts are predominantly in the Upper Swabian dialect . In this respect, he and his bands are considered to be one of the protagonists of Schwobarock (German: Schwabenrocks)

He began to live out his musical talent together with his twin brother Georg at the age of 14 in the Bad Schussenried brass band . In the late 1960s, the two began to form their own bands. From 1972 to 1976 Köberlein studied music at the PH Reutlingen , after which he worked as a teacher for half a year.

In 1978, after a demonstration against the closure of a youth center in Bad Schussenried, at which the Köberlein brothers began to sing bank songs in the Swabian dialect, Grachmusikoff was founded - a spontaneous inspiration, so to speak .

Since his brother Georg was no longer able to regularly take part in the increasingly frequent public appearances of Grachmusikoff due to family backgrounds, Alex founded the band Schwoißfuaß in the spring of 1979 . This first took over the repertoire of Grachmusikoff and only interpreted it in a rockier way, only to achieve unexpected popularity within two years. Schwoißfuaß broke up in 1986, but met again in 1996 - only for one summer - for a relatively successful revival tour.

Around the middle / end of the 80s, Alexander Köberlein released two LPs / CDs sung in High German on WEA Records and Ariola . The song "Fly" (1988) was a radio hit for a few weeks. Since the early 1990s, Köberlein and his twin brother Georg have continued to play very successfully with Grachmusikoff in various formations (rock band, trio, Die Köberleins). Köberlein lives in Pfäffingen ( Ammerbuch municipality ) near Tübingen .

On December 28, 2017, Grachmusikoff gave the last concert in the Sudhaus in Tübingen.
