Alex Rider

Alex Rider is (as of 2020) three ten-volume youth - novel series of the English writer Anthony Horowitz . These are youth spy novels . The title character is a London student who, after the death of his parents, lives in a house with Jack Starbright, who helps in the household, and his uncle Ian Rider. After the sudden death of his uncle, he starts working for the British Secret Service .

The first volume, Stormbreaker , was released in the UK in 2000. In Germany, the first volume was published in 2003 under the title The Secret of Port West by Ravensburger Buchverlag . After the titles of the first four volumes were initially translated, the entire series has been published since 2005 (with the exception of the second volume) with the original English titles. The series is a great success especially in Great Britain, but also in the USA. According to Horowitz, a tenth volume should follow in the series before the publication of Scorpia Rising . After revising this statement in the meantime, a prequel , Russian Roulette , appeared in September 2013 as the tenth volume in the series. An eleventh and twelfth volume was published in 2017 and 2019; The thirteenth volume is to follow in 2020.

When Alex Rider's uncle, with whom he lives, dies in an alleged car accident, he is puzzled and investigates how his uncle really died. So he finds out that his uncle worked for MI6 and is quickly recruited himself.
