Alessandro "Alex" Venturella , also known as "V-man" , (born March 7, 1978 ) is a British heavy metal musician and guitar technician , who became known as the lead guitarist for Crocodile and Cry for Silence . He has also toured as a guitar technician for Mastodons Brent Hinds , Coheed and Cambria and Fightstar . He switched from lead guitarist to bassist for the first time when he joined Slipknot in 2014 , where he also worked as a guitar technician.

On October 7, 2014, Venturella agreed to step in as bassist in the video for The Devil in I for bassist Paul Gray, who died in 2010 .

On October 25th and 26th, 2014, Venturella played live with the band for the first time at Knotfest 2014. On December 3rd of that year, a former band member posted a photo showing the list of members for the upcoming tour. It could be seen that Venturella and Jay Weinberg will go on tour with Slipknot. James Root announced in an interview on May 13, 2015 that Venturella was an official member of Slipknot.

On August 2, 2015, Venturella was hospitalized while performing in Hartford, Connecticut . A day later it turned out that he was only dehydrated on stage and could already be on stage again on August 4, 2015 in Mansfield, Massachusetts .
