Mask at Slipknot

Like every member of Slipknot, Root wears a mask when performing. At first it was a black bondage mask with pink hair that he took over from Josh Brainard and that covered most of his head. Currently it is a white juggler mask, similar to a death mask with rigid facial features.

Equipment

Root plays its both Slipknot and Stone Sour for guitar Signaturemodelle of Fender . These are heavily modified Stratocasters , Telecasters and Jazzmasters , tailored to his musical style , which differ from the series models in the woods used, namely mahogany instead of ash, and pickups (two active EMG humbuckers instead of the typical Fender single coils ). Furthermore, the master-tone control available on other fender models is missing. Both guitar models exist in black and white color. When performing live, Root also uses various guitars from Jackson , Charvel, Ibanez and PRS , as well as a Custom Telecaster and a Gibson Flying V.

He continues to use Orange Rockerverb 100 Mk II as an amplifier with Orange PPC412 speaker cabinets. He also uses pre and power amplifiers from Rivera, Bogner, Budda and Randall.
