Cristina Adriana Chiara Scabbia (born June 6, 1972 in Milan ) is an Italian metal singer. She is a singer since 1996 the Italian alternative metal - band Lacuna Coil .

life and career

In 1991 Scabbia began her professional career by performing as a singer in various bands. In 1994 she met singer Andrea Ferro and bassist Marco Coti Zelati in the midnight club in Milan, who were members of the band Sleep of Right . Scabbia was initially only engaged for one-off recordings for the background vocals of a demo tape by the band. However, the band members liked the way Ferro's male vocals harmonized with Scabbia's female vocals, so she was asked to become a permanent member of the band. Before Scabbias was recorded, the band changed their name to Ethereal . Eventually, later, with the composition of Cristina Scabbia, Andrea Ferro, Marco Coti-Zelati, Claudio Leo, Raffaele Zagaria and Leonardo Forti, the band renamed themselves Lacuna Coil to have a unique name.

From 2004 to 2017 Scabbia was in a relationship with James Root , one of Slipknot's two guitarists .
