Karmacode is the fourth music album by the Italian alternative metal band Lacuna Coil . It was released on March 31, 2006 via Century Media .
Music genre
With Karmacode, the band made a slight course correction. The well-known alternative metal sound was mixed with elements of nu metal , such as B. lower tuned guitars added. The many tours in the USA and the band members' preference for bands like Korn have left their mark.
particularities
Without fear is the fourth song in the band's history with Italian lyrics. The album also includes a cover version of the Depeche Mode song Enjoy the Silence . A total of three singles were released from the album: Our Truth , Enjoy the Silence and Closer . Video clips were shot for all three songs. Our Truth also appeared on the soundtrack for Underworld: Evolution .
The album was produced by Waldemar Sorychta. The album was recorded in the Woodhouse Studios in Hagen.

The album received mostly good reviews from music journalists. The following reacted split to the new album. In many cases, the band was accused of ingratulating the American market with the album. The album reached number 28 in the US charts, number 43 in Germany and number 47 in Great Britain.
By the time the follow-up album Shallow Life was released , Karmacode had sold around 200,000 copies in the United States.
