Alexander Vissarionovich Abascheli ( Georgian ალექსანდრე ალექსანდრე აბაშელი ; born August 15 . Jul / 27. August  1884 greg. In Satschotschio , Russian Empire ; d. 29. September 1954 in Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ), real name Isaac Tschotschia ( Georgian ისააკ ჩოჩია ), was a Georgian - Soviet poet .

life and work

Abasheli was involved in the Russian Revolution of 1905 .

In his early years, Abascheli's work was shaped by symbolism (collection of poems მზის სიცილი , “The Laughter of the Sun”, 1913). The socialist upheavals in Georgia had a decisive influence on his poetry. In his verses "The Night of Tiflis" (1926), "Poets" (1929), "Poetry and Gardeners", "October Thunder" (1937), "Versgeburt", "Heimat" (1938) and others, Abascheli showed the characteristics of the new era. During the years of the Great Patriotic War he wrote, among other things, the poems "Letter to the mother", "Stalingrad" and "The Chewsurian tank soldier". Abasheli's poetry was dedicated to friendship between people and the deepening of socialist relationships, which is most evident in the poems "Lenin's Heart", "New Georgia", "The October Star Shines ", "Ukraine" and "The Kremlin Towers".

He published the complete collection of Vascha-Pschawela . Together with Grigol Abashidze he wrote the text for the national anthem of the Georgian SSR . Abascheli is also known as the author of the first Georgian science fiction novel "A woman in the mirror" ( ქალი სარკეში , 1933).
