Alexander Anatoljewitsch Rymanow ( Russian Александр Анатольевич Рыманов ; born August 25, 1959 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian handball player and coach.

Rymanow began playing handball at CSKA Moscow at the age of eight. With his home club, the circle runner won the Soviet championship several times as well as the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1986 - and in 1988 the European Champion's Cup . After 21 years he left Moscow for Germany in 1989 and moved to the 2nd handball league for OSC Rheinhausen, with which he made it to the upper house in 1993. After the immediate relegation, he let his playing career end and became assistant coach. After several coaching positions in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, the qualified sports teacher became the new assistant coach of the Russian national team after the EM 2012 . After the 2015 World Cup, he gave up this position.

With the Soviet national team , the 206-time national player was world champion at the men's handball world championship in 1982 and won the gold medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul .
