Alexander Arkadyevich Tatarinov

Alexander Arkadjewitsch Tatarinow ( Russian Александр Аркадьевич Татаринов ; born October 25, 1950 in Olowjannaja Rajon , Chita Oblast ) is a Russian admiral and chief of the main staff of the Russian naval fleet . He was previously the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet .

Life

Tatarinov finished secondary school in 1967 and began his military career at the Black Sea Officers' College PS Nakhimov , which he graduated in 1972. From 1972 to 1973 he headed the laboratory of a mine and torpedo weapons base of the logistics team of the Baltic Fleet . In 1973 he was used as the commander of an anti-aircraft battery and from 1976 as the commander of the artillery combat section on the large anti- submarine fighter ship Slawny . From 1977 to 1979 Tatarinov was first officer of the destroyer Bodry and the destroyer Njeukrotimy . After completing higher officer courses, he became the commander of the large submarine hunter Obraszowy in 1980 . In 1988 he graduated from the Naval War Academy with honors, in the same year became chief of staff of an anti-submarine brigade of the Baltic Fleet and in 1990 brigade commander. After initially working as Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Baltic Sea War Base from 1994 , Tatarinov, promoted to Rear Admiral in 1995, became its commander in 1996. On September 22, 1997, he took over the post of Chief of Staff of the Black Sea Fleet. On February 23, 1998 he was appointed Vice Admiral .

In 2002 Tatarinov graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces . On February 15, 2005 he took over the post of Commander in Chief of the Black Sea Fleet from Admiral Massorin .

In July 2005 and October 2011 he participated in negotiations with representatives of NATO on the role of Russian warships in Operation Active Endeavor of the North Atlantic Alliance in the Mediterranean .

On December 12, 2005 he was appointed admiral. From 2007 to 2009 he served as deputy and from July 7, 2009 as chief of staff and first deputy to the commander-in-chief of the Russian naval fleet.

Tatarinov is married and has two children.
