Alexander Bader

Alexander Bader (* 1965 in Stuttgart ) is a German clarinetist .

Life

Bader began studying piano at the University of the Arts in Berlin and then studied clarinet with Manfred Preis and Peter Rieckhoff . After completing his orchestral diploma, he switched to the soloist class of Wolfgang Meyer at the Karlsruhe University of Music .

In 1990 he was accepted into the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen . With their wind soloists he was awarded the Echo Klassik Prize in 1998 for a recording of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Midsummer Night's Dream . In 2002 he moved to the Komische Oper in Berlin as first solo clarinetist . At the same time he played as a guest musician at the Bavarian State Opera and with the Munich Philharmonic .

Bader has been a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker since May 1, 2006 and has been a member of the Scharoun Ensemble since the 2006/07 season . In addition, he has devoted himself to ensemble - as Concentus Musicus Wien - the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble and the Academy of Ancient Music Berlin of historical performance practice on period instruments.
