Alexander Branczyk

Alexander Branczyk (* 1959 ) is a German graphic designer .

Life

Branczyk studied visual communication at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach am Main under Friedrich Friedl and was then project manager at Erik Spiekermann's brand consultancy MetaDesign from 1988 to 1994 . He then founded the Frankfurt design company xplicit Gesellschaft für visuelle Kommunikation mbH with partners . As the art director of the music magazine Frontpage (1992–1997) he gained international recognition in the design scene. The co-editor of the experimental typography magazine F2F and a book about international type designers (Emotional-Digital) was visiting professor for typography at the Bauhaus University Weimar from 2003 to 2005 . There he organized the multiple light lecture series with 60 speakers from the international design scene. With his students, Branczyk organized the international symposium Typogravieh lives from 2003 to 2008 . At the Berlin Designmai 2005 he and his students were represented by the consumer-critical department store Aldi Huxley.

In 1990 Branczyk designed the first federal election campaign in the new federal states for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen after German reunification.

Branczyk is the designer of around 100 typefaces (such as F2F Labyrinth, F2F Czykago, F2F FEZ-Berlin or F2F Duravit), which he presented at the 1996 International Design Conference in Aspen (IDCA) , USA, including house typefaces for the music magazine Frontpage and German business enterprises.
