Alexander Ivanovich Pirumov

Alexander Ivanovich Pirumow ( Russian Александр Иванович Пирумов ; born February 6, 1930 in Tbilisi , † July 20, 1995 in Moscow ) was an Armenian- Russian composer and music teacher.

Pirumow was a student of Dmitri Kabalewski . He has taught composition at the Moscow Conservatory since 1962 , and as a professor since 1982. His students included Alexandre Rabinovitch , Mark Minkow , Jelena Firsowa , Jefrem Podgaiz , Alisher Latif-Zade and others.

Pirumow composed, among other things, four symphonies, cantata 26 (1956), concert variations for piano and orchestra (1972), chamber music, piano and choral works as well as film music.
