Life

Today he works as a freelance artist. In addition to painting, Karle deals with various media such as photography , installation, design of public space, video art and performance .

Act

Karle sees his core issues in dealing with the possibilities of using space, the effects of human consumer behavior and human perception. In addition to exhibitions and project participation, he organizes and develops formats in the alternative art market and youth culture.

On November 24, 2010, his minimalist wooden sculpture Karli was set up on the square in front of the former mine management (today: the “ Europa-Galerie ” shopping center ). In 2015 he moved into his studio in the vacant Garelly house in Alt-Saarbrücken.

On January 17, 2017, Karle had to answer in court because at the beginning of 2016, as part of his video project pressure to perform, he had penetrated the cordoned off altar area of the St. Johann basilica , made push- ups on the celebration altar and then lay down on the altar bar . He then showed the film in endless loops in several shop windows. He stated that his video project, which was posted on the Internet, wanted to shed light on the topics of religion and pressure to perform in connection. His act was not to be regarded as criminal in the sense of artistic freedom. The parish affected felt the push-ups in the chancel as an assault. There were also critical voices from the art scene. On July 10, 2017 Karle was the district court Saarbrücken of charges of interference with the exercise of religion acquitted, however, of the peace breach found guilty. After a revision, he was sentenced to pay 600 euros for social purposes.
