Alexander Kerbst

Alexander Kerbst (born August 16, 1964 in Jena ) is a German musical actor and actor.

He studied from 1985 to 1989 at the Theater Academy in Leipzig and, due to his special skills, completed a special course for chansons and musicals with Jens-Uwe Günther . During his acting studies Alexander Kerbst played Joe in Jule Styne's musical from 1989 to 1992 in the Berlin Metropol Theater . Some like it hot . Numerous engagements for other musicals followed. He sang riff and action in Bernstein's West Side Story , Barnaby Tucker in Hello Dolly , the lion and the scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, and leading roles in My Fair Lady and Anatevka .

From 1995 to 1997 he had great success in Berlin as Bill Snibson in the production of Me and My Girl , based on the London original by Mike Ockrent . Then he played Ernst Ludwig in Cabaret at the Theater des Westens under Helmut Baumann . Other important roles were Ché in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita and Gabey in Bernstein's On the Town .

In the 2000/2001 season he was at the Berlin Theater am Kurfürstendamm as Dr. Otto Siedler can be seen in Benatzkys Im Weiße Rössl and was part of the cast of Saturday Night Fever in the Musical Dome in Cologne in 2001 . On the Wörther See stage in Klagenfurth, Alexander Kerbst first appeared as Falco in the musical Falco meets Amadeus in the summer of 2002 . In the summer of 2011, Kerbst returned to the resumption of the musical Ludwig² , this time in Kempten, where he took over the first line-up for Freiherr von Lutz. In 2011/12 he played Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady at the Plauen-Zwickau Theater and Moonface Martin in Anything Goes at the Osnabrück Theater . With Die Nacht der Musicals he has been touring Germany regularly since 2009.

In summer 2012 he played Horace Vandergelder in the musical (in the Plauen-Zwickau Theater) Hello Dolly . In 2013 the Theater Trier engaged him for the dance theater production Falco - The Spirit Never Dies . In the same year he went on tour in Austria with a band as a Falco actor. Since October 19, 2013 he has played the male lead in the musical Das Musikalische Himmelbett (I Do, I Do) at the Central Saxon Theater . In 2015, as in 2014, he was again on a European tour with Die Nacht der Musicals as a soloist. In 2014, engagements took him to the Darmstadt State Theater ( Xavier Naidoos Timm Thaler ) and the Eisenach State Theater ( Im Weiße Rößl and Luther - Rebel Against Will ).

Alexander Kerbst also works as a director. In the 2014/15 season, his staging of Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld was part of the repertoire of the Trier Theater. In 2015/16 he played again in the musical Anything Goes , this time at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven, the role of Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. In the 2016/17 season he staged the musical Der Glöckner von Notre-Dame in Graz. In the summer of 2016 he played in the new production of Ludwig² in Füssen, alternating with Uwe Kröger, the role of Dr. Gudden, continues to play the role of Freiherr von Lutz.

From January 2017 Kerbst will play the leading role in Falco - The Musical , with which he is going on tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

As a chansoner, he has already won two prizes at singing competitions (at the National Brecht-Eisler Competition in Berlin and at the National Singing Competition in Berlin, which he accompanied as a jury member at the finals in 2009). Together with Stefanie Kock , he founded the music comedy duo Kerbst und Kock .

In addition to his stage work as an actor, singer and director, he has also been in front of the camera several times, for example with a guest role in the action series Lasko - Die Faust Gottes .
