Alexander Soloviev ( Russian Александр Константинович Соловьёв , scientific. Transliteration Aleksandr Solovyev Konstantinović * 18 . Jul / thirtieth August  1846 greg. In Luga ; † 28 . Jul / 9. June  1879 greg. In Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian revolutionary belonging to the Narodniki terrorist wing .

Solovyov became a teacher, then a clerk, went to Petersburg in 1878 , and joined the conspiratorial association Narodnaya Wolja .

On April 14, 1879, he undertook an unsuccessful assassination attempt on Tsar Alexander II by firing five revolver shells at him without injuring the Tsar, who was fleeing in a zigzag. The lone assassin was arrested on June 9, 1879 executed .
