Alexander Kucharski , also Aleksander Kucharski (born March 18, 1741 in Warsaw ; † November 5, 1819 in Paris ) was a Polish painter who mainly worked in France .

In his youth, Kucharski Page was with the Polish King Poniatowski and then learned the painting trade in Marcello Bacciarelli's studio . He then went to Paris and studied from 1760 to 1769 with Joseph-Marie Vien and Carle van Loo at the Académie royale . From 1776 to 1778, Kucharski was in the retinue of the Princes of Condé .

Kucharski developed into a portrait painter who was highly valued by the Polish and French aristocracy. He painted u. a. Portraits of Marie Antoinette and her children and of Catherine the Great .

According to experts, his authorship of the famous and much discussed portrait pastel “Bella Potocka” , which Sophie Potocka is supposed to depict , is considered possible.

His tomb is in the Père Lachaise Cemetery , Division 1.
