Alexander Novakovic (born March 19, 1984 in Ismaning ) is a German beach handball coach, current women's national beach handball coach.

Career

Novakovic started playing handball at TSV Ismaning . He was responsible for the women's beach handball team " Ismaning Brothers ", with whom he became German champions in 2014, 2016 and 2017 and, from 2014 to 2017, continuously qualified for the European club championship, the EHF Champions Cup on Gran Canaria. The team achieved fourth place in 2014 and 2017 as the best place.

Since 2014 Novakovic has been looking after national beach handball teams at the German Handball Federation and successfully completed the EHF Beachcoach Level 1 training of the European Handball Federation in May 2015 in Thessaloniki (GRE) and the further training and examination for the EHF in October 2018 in Catania (ITA) Beachcoach Level 2 completed.

Under his leadership, the female U19 national team won the bronze medal at the 2015 European Championships. Novakovic also won bronze with the female U17 national team in 2017. In 2018, Novakovic repeated their success with the U18 national team and came third again. In 2019 Novakovic was promoted to national coach for women. He rebuilt the U17 national team and it was third in the European Championship for the fourth time.

Since 2004 Novakovic has been a consultant for beach handball in Bavaria , holds trainer training and is a key driver for the development of the sport. The EHF European Handball Federation Executive Committee appointed Novakovic as an EHF Lecturer for Beach Handball in April 2019. Since then he has also been involved in international trainer training as a lecturer.

In 2017 Novakovic was employed as an expert in broadcasting the Beachhandball World Games on Sport1 .
