Alexander Otto (diplomat)
Alexander Otto (born June 7, 1924 in Sofia ) is a former Austrian diplomat .
Life
Alexander Otto was born as the son of an Austrian couple of doctors working in the Balkans . From 1951 to 1953 Otto was the embassy secretary in Lisbon . From 1955 and 1958 Otto was the embassy secretary in Rio de Janeiro . On January 11, 1969, he was appointed ambassador to Lagos , where he was accredited from January 30, 1969 to June 28, 1972, and he was also accredited to the government in Monrovia . From 1972 to May 15, 1977 he was ambassador to Belgrade , where he shot Pierre Sebilleau on November 6, 1976 during a state hunt in Novi Becej . From 1977 to 1980 he was ambassador in Santiago de Chile . In 1981 he headed Department I. 7 Coordination of multilateral, social and certain other matters in the Foreign Ministry on Minoritenplatz. On March 11, 1982 he was appointed Ambassador to Harare , where he was accredited from March 25, 1982 to June 29, 1985. From 1985 to 1988 he was ambassador in Lisbon .
