Alexander Peukert

Alexander Peukert (* 1973 in Marienberg ) is a German legal scholar . The research focus is on intellectual property law , especially in an international context.

Life

Alexander Peukert studied law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg (1993 to 1998), where he was awarded his doctorate in 1999 . For his dissertation , the performing rights of the performer after death , he was awarded the Dr. Georg Rössler Foundation in the Association of Lawyers at the Federal Court of Justice. The doctoral project was supervised by Manfred Rehbinder . Peukert passed his second state examination in 2001.

After working for the Hertin law firm in Berlin from 2001 to 2002 , Peukert became a scientific consultant and head of the USA department at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law in Munich in 2002 . 2008 habilitation he did at the Ludwig-Maximilians University and received a teaching license for civil law , intellectual property law and copyright law , as well as German and European business law and legal theory . Thereupon, in the summer semester of 2008, he initially took over a professorship at the Vienna University of Economics and Business , but in the same year he accepted a professorship for civil law and commercial law with a focus on international intellectual property law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . Since 2008 Peukert has also been the main applicant for the local cluster of excellence The Formation of Normative Orders . In the funding period from 2007 to 2012 he headed the project International Intellectual Property Law - Basic Structures, Worldwide Expansion and the Crisis of a Normative Order . His new project is titled Transnational Regulation of Intellectual Property Through Cooperation .
