Alexander Scheiermann

Alexander Scheiermann (* 1. February 1967 in Ljubimovka, Omsk Oblast , Russia ) is an Evangelical - Lutheran clergyman and since 2017 Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Urals, Siberia and Far East (ELKUSFO).

Life

Scheiermann was born in Russia in the Omsk region. After completing school and the military, the trained locksmith left for Germany in 1988. From 1990 to 1994 he studied Protestant theology at the St. Chrischona Theological Seminary in Bettingen / Switzerland . A year later he returned to Russia. At first he worked as an intern in the Lutheran Church in Moscow . He then worked from 1996 to 1997 as a pastor in Omsk . Until April 2017 he was pastor and provost in Saratov .

In October 2016, the 25th Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East elected him to succeed Otto Schaude as bishop . He was inducted into office on April 23, 2017 in Omsk .

Alexander Scheiermann is married and has three children.
