Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang (born December 26, 1983 in San Francisco , California ) is an American fashion designer . He founded the fashion brand named after him for women's and men's clothing in the upper price segment in 2005 in New York . From 2012 to August 2015, Wang was chief designer at the fashion company Balenciaga .
Career
Wang studied fashion design at the Parsons Design School . In 2005 he founded his own fashion label and presented his first ready-to-wear collection in 2007 . In 2008, he won the CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund, a $ 20,000 grant to expand his business. In the same year he launched the second line T by Alexander Wang, initially for women, from 2009 also for men. In 2012 he became chief designer at Balenciaga in Paris, successor to Nicolas Ghesquière . His fashion, which is mainly characterized by the use of the color black, is worn by celebrities such as Megan Fox , Madonna or Gwyneth Paltrow. In November 2014, Alexander Wang created a low-priced designer collection for the fashion chain H&M . His involvement with Balenciaga ended in August 2015.
