The Volksbank Altshausen eG is a cooperative universal bank with headquarters in Altshausen in the district of Ravensburg .

history

On March 18, 1865 34 members founded the previously incurred in trade association Altshausen the loan association Altshausen whose statute was signed at the Hotel "Hirsch-Post". On July 15, 1865, business operations began. The first general assembly took place on April 28, 1866.

On January 1, 1871, the name was changed to a registered cooperative with unlimited liability. In 1876 the currency was first converted from guilders to gold marks . Business was so good that in 1882 the bank stopped accepting funds from non-members due to excess cash. It was not until November 18, 1898 that non-members were again allowed to invest money in the advance payment association. After the end of the Goldmark at the beginning of the First World War in 1914, the first major change took place in 1919: limited liability was introduced in the statutes of the advance payment association and the bank was given the name "Gewerbebank Altshausen".

In 1923 , the year of inflation , the bank achieved a net profit of 1,336 trillion marks, of which nothing was left after the Reichsmark was introduced .

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary in 1940, the statutes and the company name were changed to "Volksbank Altshausen eG mbH".

With the currency reform and the Marshall Plan came an upswing with the economic miracle. Volksbank started on June 21, 1948 with total assets of DM 682,000 and reserves of DM 47,000. On May 1, 1957, a cash desk was opened in Ebenweiler . After the bank had acquired the "Maigler" property at its current location with a purchase agreement dated May 16, 1961, construction of a new bank building began in May 1964. After almost 100 years without a permanent place of business, the company moved into the building on Hindenburgstrasse in 1965.

1981 saw the first merger with the independent Raiffeisen banks Blönried , Ebenweiler - Fleischwangen and Ebersbach - Musbach .

In 1989 the existing building in Altshausen was expanded. As a technical innovation, the first ATM was put into operation.

In 1993 the merger took place with the Raiffeisenbank Wilhelmsdorf and in 1998 with the Raiffeisenbanks Blitzenreute and Fronhofen .

Volksbank has had its own website since 2000.
