Alexander Witaljewitsch Strelzow ( Russian Александр Витальевич Стрельцов ; born January 31, 1990 in Nizhnevartovsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Sokol Krasnoyarsk from the Vysschaja Hockey League since June 2020 . His twin brother Vasily is also a hockey player.

Career

Alexander Strelzow began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Olimpiez Surgut, in which he was active until 2005. He then played for two years in the youth department of Spartakovets Yekaterinburg, before joining Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in 2007. For the second team, the attacker played for two years in the third-rate Pervaya League . For the professional team of Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg he made his debut in the Continental Hockey League in the 2009/10 season . In his rookie year in the KHL, he scored two goals and two assists in 30 games. At the same time, he played as in the following year for the junior team Awto Yekaterinburg in the multinational youth league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga . He also played six games for Sputnik Nizhny Tagil in the Wysschaja Hockey League , the second Russian division , in the 2010/11 season .

From the 2011/12 season Strelzow played exclusively for the KHL team of Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg, before he was handed over to HK Lada Tolyatti in June 2014 together with his twin brother Vasily . In return, Awtomobilist received two voting rights for the KHL Junior Draft 2015 .

After the 2017/18 season, Lada Tolyatti was expelled from the KHL and the Strelzow brothers decided to continue their careers with Admiral Vladivostok . In June 2020, the striker moved to Sokol Krasnoyarsk from the second-rate Vysschaya hockey league .
